Megan Cantlebary's practice focuses on representing prime contractors throughout the United States relating to multi-million dollar public works projects and miscellaneous commercial litigation. Ms. Cantlebary has been involved with all aspects of the construction industry, from procurement (contract preparation and negotiation through bid protests) to claim development and prosecution/defense of claims, in all forms of dispute resolution (mediation, arbitration, dispute review boards and litigation before state and federal courts). She has experience in a vast array of cases in several states, ranging from pure construction matters in the commercial sector (airports, bridges, highways, water treatment plants, dams and appurtenant facilities) to false claims litigation (state and federal law) as well as proceedings involving the uniform foreign money judgment recognition statutes.

Ms. Cantlebary's practice includes assisting clients with risk evaluation and contract analysis for public and private project procurements.

Specific examples of Ms. Cantlebary's work in the construction industry include:

  • Successful resolution of false claims litigation exceeding allegations of $450 million against ENR top 10 general contractor
  • Participated as the member of a team that successfully defended against enforcement of a £6 million (+ claimed 21% interest) foreign money judgment at the state court and appellate level
  • Ongoing representation of design-build contractor consortium of an ENR top 10 general contractor and an ENR top 15 general contractor in connection with DRB proceedings and for the development of substantial claims on a $1.3+ billion light-rail and station project
  • Consulting work for a design-build contractor client with claims in excess of $100M on a $600 million light rail project
  • Consulting with the design-build contractor client with claims arising from a $1.5B million road construction project
  • Support for the claim development for the design-builder on a $1.1B highway project involving in excess of $100M in claims
  • Representation of clients in state court and in the presentation of several claims to the DRB in connection with various heavy civil projects including a water treatment plant, a dam raise project, and a 1,000 megawatt combined cycle power generating facility
